I checked out Augisa & Co. Organics at the suggestion of one our department managers who had been receiving many customer request for this new line. Once I was able to try the products and see how clean the ingredients were, I was immediately impressed. Not many products out there can claim the long list of benefits that Augisa does: certified organic, cruelty-free, naturally fragranced, vegan, and still be affordable. They have a wide range of products in key categories as well from body lotions, butters, and scrubs, to hair conditioners and foot care. I also fell in love with the great product names like Souls Collide, Lover's Cove, and Secluded Beaches that evoke an individual, completely subjective experience for each person who picks it up. There aren't any conventional one-note scents like lavender, rose, or sandalwood, but complex blends inspired by the founders' own whirl-wind romance.

Perhaps the icing on the cake is that this company mirrors our own philosophy and mission so well. Augisa is locally owned and operated by a husband & wife team based out of Charlotte, NC. They have a much smaller carbon foot-print than many of our larger nationally distributed brands. Their labels are made from 100% post-consumer waste. Their products are natural doctor approved and they make some of the gentlest body butter and lotion formulas I've seen in a long time. They have an eye towards the future of clean, effective, affordable, and natural body care with no usage of any ingredients sourced from petrochemicals, no artificial fragrances or colors. I'm very much looking forward to seeing these "products for the urban environment" on our shelves in early 2009!
